The Skip Barber Racing School has announced it will enter multiple cars in the inaugural season of McLaren Trophy America. The series, which features McLaren Trophy EVO cars, has proven popular in Europe and will now expand to the United States.
The McLaren Trophy America season will begin in March of 2025 from Sonoma Raceway and follow the SRO America calendar across the country with stops at Circuit of The Americas, Skip Barber’s home track of VIRginia International Raceway, Road America, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
“This new program is important for us for two key reasons,” said Skip Barber Racing team manager Joe Monitto. “First, it provides our clients with another excellent option for where they wish to compete, as the McLaren Trophy EVO is an especially attractive platform. In addition to that, the Skip Barber Racing School has been working with McLaren to provide training to drivers seeking to compete in the series. This raises the driving standards, and with it, the quality of the competition in the series.”
Throughout the team’s history, Skip Barber Racing has offered arrive-and-drive programs at multiple levels of racing including Touring Car, GT4, and other one-make series. The addition of the McLaren Trophy EVO platform creates a more diverse development arc for the team’s drivers.
